The public’s views on The Royal family

Survation were commissioned by The Daily Star Sunday to test the public’s views on The Royal family. Questions involved were the public’s relative “favourite” royals, general views on the Royal Family including questions on its abolition, on succession, “value for money” and what Prince Harry’s future combat role should be in Afghanistan.  Full data tables with all questions and methodology are now available to view here;

Methodology

  • The Survation/Daily Star Sunday Royal Family survey is a nationally representative online survey of adults aged over 18 years old living in the UK
  • Online surveys were conducted using respondents from the Survation online consumer panel
  • Responses were gathered between the 13th of July and the 14th of July 2011, and a total of 536 responses were achieved
  • Data were weighted to ensure the final results were representative of the UK using census information in terms of age and gender and region
  • Data were analysed and weighted by Survation using SPSS
