We are looking for a Proposal Writer & Project Manager to take a leading role in managing Survation’s bid submissions, proposal writing, and research project delivery. This hybrid role is two-thirds focused on bids and proposals and one-third on project management, ensuring that successful bids translate into well-executed research projects.
The Role
This role sits at the heart of Survation’s business development and project delivery functions. You will be responsible for managing the bid process, crafting compelling proposals, and overseeing the smooth execution of research projects. The key responsibilities are:
Proposal Writing & Bid Management (c. ⅔ of role)
Bid Management: Lead and manage the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification to submission, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards.
Proposal Writing: Draft clear, persuasive, and tailored proposals that effectively communicate Survation’s research expertise, methodologies, and value proposition.
Collaboration: Work closely with research, commercial, and senior leadership teams to gather the necessary information and insights for compelling proposals.
Content Development: Develop and maintain high-quality proposal content, including case studies and methodologies, ensuring consistency and brand alignment.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the bid process, including maintaining a library of pre-written content and templates.
Project Management (c. ⅓ of role)
Research Project Oversight: Support the transition of successful bids into smoothly executed projects by liaising with research teams on planning and delivery.
Timeline and Resource Management: Ensure projects run on time, within scope, and meet client expectations.
Client Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients, keeping them informed of project progress and addressing any challenges proactively.
Operational Coordination: Assist in managing project workflows, ensuring the right resources are allocated efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Proven experience in bid management, proposal writing, or project management, ideally within market research, consulting, or a related field.
Project Management Skills: Ability to oversee multiple projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery.
Excellent Communication: Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences.
Organisation & Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage deadlines and ensure bid and project accuracy.
Collaboration & Initiative: Comfortable working with multiple teams and proactively identifying ways to improve processes.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, and experience with CRM, bid automation, or project management tools is a plus.
